Motuoapa Bay Motels is ideally situated for travellers and holidaymakers. Conveniently located on SH 1, the lodge is a very suitable base for a holiday and to visit the many world-famous attractions located around the region.
Nestled among native trees, and under the picturesque Echo Cliffs, studio and family self-contained, comfortable cedar chalets contribute to a warm and relaxing ambience, in a park-like setting, 200 metres from the edge of Lake Taupo.
We are a short 35-minute drive from the Whakapapa ski fields.
The world's best trout fishing can be found on both sides of the resort. Boat launching facilities are very handy as we are only 200 metres from a boat ramp and marina. Ample boat trailer parking is available.
Adjacent to the motel are popular local bush tracks which are easy walking. A quick 10-minute drive takes you to the Kaimanawa Ranges for Sika deer hunting with ample tramping opportunities.
Located between Auckland and Wellington, this motel provides convenient accommodation for travellers with an award-winning café located opposite and Turangi just minutes away.

Trout Fishing
Some of the world's best trout fishing rivers can be found on either side of the lodge. 200 metres to the boat ramp and access to lake situated on the southern end of Lake Taupo.
Hunting and Tramping
A quick 10-minute drive to Kaimanawa Ranges for Sika deer hunting and the best bush walks available. Popular local bush walks are adjacent to the lodge.
Skiing
The Whakapapa ski fields are only an easy 35-minute drive away.
